Lopez "The Stone Horse"
A part in the narrative I was drawn to was when he states, "Western man did not enter the California desert until the end of the eighteenth century, 25A years after Coronado brought his soldiers into the Zumpueblos in a bewildered search for thL cities of Cibola." I love learning about history so stories and memories interest me greatly. In this section he talks about the early history of the land and who roamed through it. I especially like the line, "In 7823 what had been Spain's became Mexico's, and in 1848 what had been Mexico's became America's". I like this line because it gives you a clear transition of custody of the land.
